Happy Wednesday everyone!
I had another great day at school today- I’m simply loving project.
My amazing assistant took so many photos today, I felt I just had to share.
As you can see, creativity is flowing from every crack and crevice. The cleanliness of this room may never be the same again.
Enjoy my classroom view!

By lunch time, every surface, table top and floor, were so consumed with half-finished projects that the kids with a packed lunch had no place to consume their lunches.
Luckily it was a gorgeous day.
So we sat on the balcony and had a picnic.
Today the kids created a design for their masks and put the plans into action.
I spent most of the day on the floor helping with the hot glue gun.
The results were fantastic. Every child was so proud of the final products. That’s the best part about being a teacher.
Here’s a look at some of the work they did yesterday.
Self-portraits in chalk pastels.
Now for the project that I’m most proud of.
The whole-school mural of faces.
I found this idea on another website. I then assigned a color/ mix of colors for each class in the school.
Every single child at my school created a self-portrait to contribute to the project.
On Monday I led an art assembly for the whole of Key Stage 2. It was a lot of fun to get creative in a large group atmosphere.
The kindergarten kids made handprints for the border. Even at 3 years old, they were a part of this.
Yesterday and today, I pasted the drawings onto a large roll of butcher block paper and after school today stuck the whole thing on the wall of our entrance hall. Luckily, I had some great help from eager hands. I wouldn’t have been able to hang this piece without them.
Even as my group of volunteers were holding the mural in place, waiting for the tape to come around, the straggling kids were excitedly trying to find their drawings.
I can’t wait to watch from above tomorrow morning as the kids come into school.
Since tomorrow is Karneval, my final art project for the day involved making final touches to my costume.
Mama Pea’s Cracklin’ Cauliflower fueled me along.
Here’s to hoping I get at least 6 hours of sleep tonight!
Question
What art projects do you remember from elementary school?
WOW……your a great teacher, I wish I had your capacity…
Love you , Dad
The mural looks great! I love the rainbow effect!
When I was in elementary school we painted a wooden clotheshanger for Father’s Day. We got cotton swabs to use as stamps in stead of paint brushes. I remember making daisies and my dad loved it
The rainbow self portrait mural turned out awesome!!! My favorite art projects in grade school were a 9 patch coaster/quilt, a shadow box antique Valentine, and working with water colors. In high school we designed an album cover. Albums were before 8 tracks, tapes and CDs in case you were wondering! Ha! Love ya! Mom
