Add this to my list of reasons I love Germany…
The city hall has Christmas spirit, even while under construction.
A giant city hall gingerbread house.
Just for perspective, here is what the Rathaus looked like 3 years ago at this time.
Each of the windows usually has a number in it representing the 24 days of Advent. Every day in December, a new window light is turned on like a giant advent calendar.
Isn’t Germany beautiful at Christmas time?
You HAVE to love Germans, Where is the GCLU, complaining about the mixture of Church and State? The Idea of the town hall mimicking an advent calendar is just magnificent!
What a schoen Rathaus and I love that it is a big advent calendar! You are making me wish I was in Germany during the holidays–sipping gluewein at a Christkindlmarkt. Happy Holidays!
That is so beautiful! I have never been to Germany, but it looks so nice. Love the town hall advent cakendar.
How beautiful! Like the advent idea. Just think of the size of the chocolate piece behind those windows!! Wink, wink! Just a couple more days and you’ll be home! Sorry to say there aren’t any giant gingerbread public buildings in our county. Mom
